Recycling Grid
project 3 of 12Collaborative project with Indhira Rojas.
We were asked to develop an intervention to help the with struggling effort of facilities at CCA to help educate the student population about the three bin system which had recently been implemented, but was failing to register with a number of students. Over the course of one week we developed and implemented a recycling decision game called "Where Does it Go?" to try and help de-mystify the "what goes in what bin" quandary. Our design solution involved installing a approximately 15 foot by 30 foot diagram in the front entrance of the school serving to engage on some level each and every individual who walked through the doors over the course of five days. With a $300 dollar budget we succeeded in both educating and engaging a substantial portion of the student body.
This installation was subsequently selected to be part of the Design Biennial: Action/Reaction at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.
